• How long are tutoring sessions?
  Our standard session length is 60 minutes, which we find works well for most students from Grade 1 through Grade 8. For older students in high school, 90 minute sessions are often recommended to allow enough time to work through more complex material. Session length can be adjusted based on your child's age, attention span, and goals.
• How do you match my child with the right tutor?
  After your free consultation, we take into account your child's grade level, subject needs, learning style, and personality when selecting a tutor. If at any point the match does not feel right, simply let us know and we will find a better fit. Your child's comfort and progress come first.
• What if the tutor is not a good match for my child?
  We understand that the right match matters. If you feel the current tutor is not the best fit, contact us and we will work quickly to reassign your child to another tutor at no extra cost or hassle. We want every session to feel productive and comfortable.
• Do I need to sign a contract?
  No long-term contracts are required. We believe in earning your continued trust through results. You can start, pause, or stop sessions at any time with reasonable notice. We do ask for 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
• What is your cancellation policy?
  We ask for at least 24 hours notice for any cancellation or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. We understand that life happens and we always try to be flexible in genuine emergencies.
• What is the price of tutoring?
  Pricing varies depending on the subject, session format (in-person or online), and session length. We discuss all pricing transparently during your free consultation so there are no surprises. Contact us to get a personalized quote for your child's specific needs.
• How does the billing process work?
  Billing is straightforward and handled on a monthly basis. Payment is due at the start of each month and covers the sessions scheduled for that month. We accept Interac e-Transfer as well as Visa and Mastercard (a 4% processing fee applies to credit card payments). We will always provide a clear summary of sessions and charges so you know exactly what you are paying for.
• Do you offer tutoring in French only, or other subjects too?
  While French tutoring is our specialty and biggest strength, we support students across all core subjects including Mathematics, Sciences, English, and Social Studies from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Visit our Services page to see the full list of subjects and tutors.
• Can sessions be done online or only in-person?
  We offer in-person sessions in the Greater Toronto Area at select locations, as well as fully online sessions via secure platforms. The format is chosen based on what works best for your schedule and your child's learning style.

Katarina Tyrovolas is an elementary school teacher with the Durham District School Board, where she has been teaching for the past 3 years. Maria Wall is an English and French educator with the Conseil scolaire Viamonde, where she has been teaching for the past 6 years. In addition to her classroom experience, she has been supporting students as a tutor since her university studies, giving her a strong foundation in both academic instruction and individualized learning support.

Maria is passionate about helping students build confidence in their abilities and develop strong communication and literacy skills in both English and French. I am a French and Science educator working within the Ontario public French-language school board, Conseil scolaire Viamonde. My passion for tutoring began during my undergraduate studies in Mathematics, where I tutored French-speaking students at my former French high school while also competing as a varsity volleyball athlete at university.

That passion continued throughout my university career and naturally led me into the teaching profession, where I have remained dedicated to helping students build confidence, develop strong learning habits, and achieve academic success.

My experience as both an educator and competitive athlete has taught me the discipline, organization, and time management required to successfully balance academics, extracurricular activities, and personal commitments. I understand what it means to have a full schedule, and I strive to help students stay motivated, organized, and confident while reaching their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.
